Wasting Light, the Waste of Summer Time
Benjamin Franklin was nutz when he proposed the idea of “Early to bed, and early to rise, makes a man healthy and wise” I say “Ben, you were a man with too much time in your hands and little to do besides the comet experiment”, and William Willet was an self-centered individual who proposed one of the most strangest things ever The Daylight Savings, just to play a little bit more golf in the summer; at the end today, we don’t need, at least many of the countries in the world and the southern part of the United States the Daylight Savings because we have electricity and business and economics in today’s world are 24-7 because modern technology makes everything easy.
First I want to say that moving forward your clocks one hour, don’t help nothing with the day, they even disrupt the perception of time an individual have and it creates problems in the sleeping and waking up, and there is no real significant savings because most of the countries, not to say all that use the Daylight Savings tend to waste more energy in these time of the year.
For Florida, who is in two times zones is something useless. It should be used only in the northern part of the territory where the effects of Summer are more visible than the central and south areas; at least here in Brandon the Summer is like another day, and in Miami the night it goes round all year long!, it don’t work; take the case of Colombia, it was a complete waste of time because sunrise and dusk are the same all year, or the case of Nevada (they were smart).
At the end, just to make it short and not to run dry my information, this tradition should be abolished because it don’t work and at the end it’s just wasting light.
